Finding The Right Mini Pendant Lights
After all my years of remodeling so many homes, I've learned how important the right amount of light is. One of the more popular types of mini pendant lighting I've been working with are pendant lights. These lights can really change the feel to a room.
Pendant lights are made in many different styles. They're made in very modern styles, as well as more traditional or old-fashioned styles as well. Everyone has their own taste, but there are plenty of options for you to choose from when looking to decorate your home.
If your house is modern, you'll probably end up with a beautiful stainless steel or brass finished pendant. I've seen some incredible contemporary designs, specifically the way the glass or steel is cut.
Tiffany-style pendants are the more traditional type. Their usually designed with beautiful stained glass and the colors are bright. These are one of my favorite styles and when matched in the right setting, can make a huge difference. It's one of those things that everyone will notice in your home!
Pendant lights can be placed in many different rooms throughout the home, office or even outside the house. If you have high ceilings in your foyer, that's a great spot for a pendant or multiple pendants; it will have a similar effect as a chandelier. It's lovely to notice this as the first thing when entering a home.
Most people purchasing pendant lights are looking to add these lights to their kitchen. It really adds a nice touch to a kitchen. They're commonly installed over a table or over counter tops. If you're looking to hang them over a counter top, check out island style pendants. They're more affordable than purchasing three or four different pendants, since they're all hanging on one island.
They're also found in the game room, perhaps over a billiards table. If they're over a gaming table, they can hang a bit lower than in a kitchen. Same as if installed at a work space. You want enough light from the pendants so they should be installed closer to the table.
There are some typical guidelines to follow when installing these lights; most important is to make sure the lights are hanging at the right height. They should hang 30inches to 40 inches above the table. These are only guidelines, so do your own test to make sure you're comfortable with the height and it doesn't get in your!
